Fitness Assessment Data from Mike and Mary in July 2009
Comments from UltraFast CrossTrainer®:
Shown below is the fitness assessment data from a married couple named Mike and Mary. Mike is 54 years old; Mary is 55 years old. Neither one had been involved with an exercise program prior to purchasing their UltraFast CrossTrainer®. During the assessment period Mike used the machine 40 times, and Mary used the machine 23 times. One last comment is that Mike reported that he and Mary generally eat a very healthy diet, a habit they developed several years ago. Here are the results they reported:

Comments from Mike:
We like the machine and want to keep it, though our results were not what we expected. 4 minutes a day for just 6 weeks will not make anyone into a bodybuilder, but the results we have gotten are definitely in the right direction and are encouraging enough for us to continue.
Because she still has soreness from her knee surgery, Mary was not able to exercise but about half as much as me. She has been supplementing the CrossTrainer with water aerobics a couple of times a week, and now she is going to start doing the lower body workout on the CrossTrainer again. She's thinking of doing both the same day then laying off for a day. I'm doing every day (6 days/wk) and alternating upper and lower.
First, the suprise part of our results: I thought we would increase in strength and capacity faster than we are. We are improving, but VERY gradually. Second, we thought we would lose weight. I haven't lost any and Mary lost only 1 pound (BTW, I don't know the amount that "ABC" represents on her assessment - after 33 years of marriage I have never known her weight). Finally, I thought I might gain some dimension in my arms while instead I lost slightly. I guess changing fat to muscle can increase weight and decrease bulk at first.
Now for the pleasing part. We have both gained tremendously in flexibility and reduced our soreness. We just feel generally better. I have lost 1-1/2 inches from my waist and my pants fit so much better. My blood pressure has improved slightly (I'm seeing the doc about that high BP Thursday), and my body fat is going in the right direction. While I only knocked 17 seconds off my mile run, again, it's going in the right direction. But the real clincher is, even though we might have had more dramatic results from exercises that take a lot longer, we still had results from JUST 4 MINUTES A DAY! Now, we've already demonstrated over the past year that any more demand on our time than that equals NO exercise at all. It's a question of doing SOMETHING with the CrossTrainer or ending up doing NOTHING with anything else. So, we're going to keep this up and see where the right direction takes us in a year. No matter how little time we have left, we can always squeeze the time to watch one commercial break on TV while working out before hitting the shower.
Thanks for providing a great machine with great service and support.
