Reference from Kyle in January 2009

I have owned an UltraFast since late August of 2008. I couldn't be happier with the the service, the machine, or the exercise it provides. My physical abilities have all increased significantly: strength, flexibility, stamina, reflexes, balance, sleep, posture.

Chris and Kevin at Regal Stephah are great guys. They have proven to be very customer-oriented, responsive and friendly. There have been a few small flaws in my XT and Chris and Kevin provided solutions without hesitation. I could not ask for better support.

The results of the exercise are really remarkable; it's like I've gotten younger. I'm 52 and I feel 35--that's really good. I have damaged knees and cannot run or walk for any long distance. I am persnickety and refuse to ride a bicycle around cars because of the exhaust and noise. Stationary bikes are boring and take at least 45 minutes to get any real benefit. I used to spend an hour on a NordicTrack, but sheesh, that was boring too, even when I set up a TV and watched movies. I have free weights, bands, balls, and a Total Gym. I can't stand going to a commercial gym because of the disco music and bad breath.

So, because I'm damaged, and because I'm a prima donna, it's been hard for me to find a way to exercise regularly. Not any more....it's right down the hall and only four minutes.

My wife and I work from home. Our UFXT is in a bedroom on the second floor that we use as a gym. I had to take the arms off to get it through several hallways and doors. It was quite easy to remove and reinstall the arms and set them up correctly again.

I hired a moving company to send four strong guys with moving experience to get the UFXT from where the crate had been dropped off in my driveway up to the second floor "gym". I dismantled the crate and I store the panels against the wall in my two-car garage. It took about 1 hour to remove the UFXT from the crate, remove the arms, wrap it in moving pads, move it to the 2nd floor bedroom, remount the arms, and adjust the arms. It would have taken less time, but the moving guys were very cautious in the stairway and tight spots as the XT is a heavy and odd-shaped item to move.

My wife and I do our four minutes when we get up in the morning. Front (upper body) one day and back (lower body) the next. We get up, put on gym clothes, splash our faces with water and head to the "gym" where we drink some water and do a quick 60 seconds of general stretching (swiveling and yawning). We exercise four minutes each and then hit the shower.

In the past I have been a fitness trainer and an iron-pusher. I managed a gym in Manhattan and my personal routine included a circuit on Cybex machines and routines on a Gravitron, a Kneedspeed and a Treadwall. I always thought of the Treadwall as the ultimate fitness machine, but it takes a 12 foot ceiling and it is difficult to keep inside a 2500 sqft house. For the same cost I would rather have a UFXT. (Although I would love to have both!)

Before I bought the UFXT I did a lot of research. I had always wanted a ROM but could not go the $15,000. To test the validity of the exercise I even visited the RomFab factory in L.A. and spent about an hour trying the machine and touring the plant. I was really impressed with the exercise and the machine. I browsed the blogs and found that the few positive comments came from people that owned a ROM and what they said ringed true. The negative comments all came from people that, not only did not own one, but had never even been near one.

One negative comment came from a guy that said he had driven to a gym an hour away and tried the ROM on six different occasions without feeling anything more than a tingle. He did not give his weight or physical condition, and more importantly, he did not say what difficulty level he used, how much time he spent exercising, what his pace count was and what his "% of Target" score was at the end. I challenge him to come to my house and workout with me. I sincerely doubt he will be able to walk ten steps after correctly exercising his lower body for four minutes on the back of the machine at a difficulty setting equal to his body weight and accomplishing a % of Target over 100%. If he is a runner in really good shape, then 110%. My legs are exhausted and quivering after four minutes at max effort.

Exercising on the UFXT is similar to wrestling a person of your own physical characteristics. If you wrestled in high school or college you will know what I mean: three minutes of struggling against your own strength is a real tough three minutes. The same thing goes for the UFXT. One minute of warmup and three minutes of pushing yourself to your max. It is part strength, part stamina, and all will power. Getting to 100% of Target and staying there for four minutes is a real struggle every morning, but hey, it's only four minutes.

In fact, that's what my wife and I say every morning: It's only four minutes! How can we not exercise? It's just four minutes. There is no excuse. To much vodka or wine the night before is not an excuse, only an argument in favor of prohibition. It's only four minutes.

We both have come to look forward to exercising on the UFXT and we miss it if we are out of town. I can't imagine ever being without it. I have R/R Multiple Sclerosis and injuries to my back, shoulders, knees, ankles. The UFXT gives me a great workout without the likelihood of injury. My wife is in good shape, but she has noticed improvements in her muscle tone. Her arms and butt have toned and tightened and she is getting some nice definition in her forearms and triceps and biceps.

I will be glad to answer any questions you have. You can contact me by email or call me at [phone number]. Please keep both my email address and phone number confidential.

Cheers,

Kyle
